Preparing your skin for your wedding day is an important step to achieving beautiful glowing skin. Up until a few years ago my skincare was quite inconsistent (until I started planning my own wedding!) I made a conscious effort to look after my skin and it really made a huge difference to the way my makeup looked on my wedding day.
My skincare routine became much more than just about applying the products to my face. It turned into a daily self-care ritual. I loved switching off from wedding planning/overthinking, and just allow myself some ME time.
So here is my recommended skincare routine which has been tried and tested by many of my brides!
STEP 1 Cleanse once in the morning and cleanse twice at night. I use Elemis Cleansing balm for my morning cleanse. For my evening cleanse I use Clinique take the day off followed by Elemis cleansing balm.

STEP 2 An exfoliating tonic will leave you with brighter-looking skin. It works by buffing away dead skin and impurities. I use this once a day. It’s quick and easy to use. All you have to do is apply this with cotton wool! I use Pixi tonic glow as an everyday exfoliator and Paulas choice a few times a week after my nighttime cleanse.

STEP 3 Eye cream can be used to target fine lines around the eyes, and used on a daily basis will help your under eye concealer to look really smooth.

STEP 4 Face serums are lightweight moisturizers that penetrate deeper to deliver active ingredients into your skin. Using a serum twice a day will plump the skin and help your skin to look noticeably smoother.
I use Vichy serum after my morning cleanse and Estee Lauder advanced night repair after my evening cleanse.
Both products can be purchased with 20% off using my discount code LFTFFIONAJONES

Step 5 Moisturiser helps to lock the serum in place and provide extra hydration. Remember oily skin needs moisturiser too. Your skin can still be dehydrated even when oily!
I use MEDIK8 as my morning moisturiser and La Roche Posay for my evening moisturiser
Both products can be purchased with 20% off using my discount code LFTFFIONAJONES

STEP 6 for morning routine only!
Apply SPF after your morning routine. SPF should be applied every day (all year round) Overexposure to sunlight can increase the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and sunscreen can help protect against the harmful effects of premature aging. This is why you see a lot of celebrities with full brimmed hats and sunglasses. (It’s not just for fashion, they are protecting their faces from the sun!) 😉
La Roche Posay SPF can be purchased HERE using my 20% off discount code LFTFFIONAJONES.

Lastly I would recommend using a good face mask once a week. This will give extra hydration to the skin and even out skintone.

After following these steps I really believe you will see an improvement in the overall look and texture of your skin! And their is no better time to show yourself some self-care! 🙂
I’m always looking to try new products and would love to hear your recommendations in the comments 🙂
